Claudia Palacios is a renowned journalist and holds a Master's degree in Gender Studies. She is currently a columnist for El Tiempo and the host and director of Mujeres sin Filtro, a talk show on Canal RCN. She has served as news director at El Tiempo TV/City TV and Canal Capital, and has been a journalist for Mañanas Blu 10:30 a.m. and a main anchor for W Radio. Her international career includes roles as anchor, reporter, and co-producer at CNN en Español, as well as presenter and reporter for Canal Caracol and the prime-time edition of Noticiero CM& in Colombia.
n 2019, Claudia published HemBRujas: Many Voices of a Struggle Missing Men, a book of interviews with women, which earned her the prestigious CPB National Journalism Award for Best Book. She is also the author of ¿Te vas o te quedas? – Stories to Read Before Crossing the Border (2013), and Perdonar lo Imperdonable – Chronicles of a Possible Peace (2015), which earned her the Simón Bolívar Journalism Award in 2014 for Best Radio Interview.
She was nominated twice for an Emmy Award for Destinos, CNN en Español’s travel show. In less than a year directing the news division at Canal Capital, she led the team to an India Catalina Award nomination for Best Regional Newscast, and won the Álvaro Gómez Hurtado Award in 2017 for a digital journalism project explaining the Colombian peace agreement with FARC. In 2018, she was recognized by the Inter American Press Association for her opinion columns on gender equity.
In 2009, she was named Best Latin American Journalist by the Latin American Chambers of Commerce, and in 2004 she received the Celsam Award for her TV work on reproductive health. She holds a degree in Social Communication and Journalism from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, and a Master's in Gender Studies from Universidad de los Andes.
