Former President of INCAE Business School and founding Director of the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development



He was recently appointed President of VIVA Trust and of Fundación Latinoamérica Posible.

He was President of INCAE Business School and founding Director of the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS for its Spanish acronym).

He’s a member of the Board of Directors of INCAE and the World Resources Institute in Washington. Also, he’s co-founder of Costa Rica’s Digital Strategy Project and member of the Competitiveness Committee of Costa Rica’s Chamber of Commerce.

He holds a doctorate degree from Harvard University’s Business School, a masters degree from INCAE, and a naval engineering degree. He’s the author of several books and dozens of articles and case studies dealing with sustainable development, business strategy, strategy for non-profit organizations, agribusiness and corporate social responsibility.
